Product Description

The DAC8734EVM is an evaluation module for DAC8734 digital to analog converter. The evaluation module module provides a quick and easy way to evaluate the functionality and performance of this high resolution serial input digital to analog converter (DAC). The evaluation module is designed to work by default for bipolar output range, but it can also be configured for unipolar output range by a simple switch change. The evaluation module provides the serial interface header to easily attach to any host microprocessor or TI DSP base system. Installed precision reference voltages of 5VDC and 2.5VDC are selectable using on board switches S2 and S3. REF5050 (5VDC source) and REF5025 (2.5VDC) are pin compatible with the REF50xx family allowing a wide variety of reference values.
Bipolar and Unipolar mode of operation is supported
Contains all support circuitry needed for the DAC8734
Serial interface header to easily attach to TI DSP base communication systems
Voltage reference options On board 5V, on board 2.5V or external
Jumpers on output pins for gain adjustment
Compatible with the modular EVM system
Daisy chaining multiple EVMs is supported
It is important to operate this EVM within the input voltage range of -16.5V to 21V and the output voltage range of -15V to 15V. Exceeding the specified input range may cause damage to the EVM.
